About
Jonathan Groves, assistant professor, Drury University, Springfield, Mo.
I worked for 14 years as a writer and editor at newspapers in Arkansas and Missouri. I earned my doctorate from the University of Missouri-Columbia focusing on media management/new media, and I now teach media classes at Drury.
I am interested in protecting the future of journalism by whatever means necessary: organizational change, social media, or startup nonprofit news organizations.
I am also a partner in the Center for Media Change, a consulting group dedicated to advising news organizations trying to survive in the era of new media. My research partners are Dr. Carrie Brown-Smith at the University of Memphis and Dr. Doreen Marchionni, an independent media consultant and founder of Sasquatch Media.
